Convert HEIC to PNG in Your Browser
PNG is useful when you need a lossless image for editing, screenshots, design workflows, or apps that reject HEIC but also recompress JPG. This converter reads your HEIC or HEIF photo in the browser and exports a PNG file without uploading the original image.
If you only need the smallest universal photo format, HEIC to JPG is usually the better choice. PNG is lossless, but it can be much larger than both HEIC and JPG, especially for real-world camera photos.
When PNG is the Right Output
- You plan to edit the image and want to avoid another lossy JPG pass.
- You need a format accepted by design tools, CMS uploads, or desktop apps.
- You are working with screenshots, graphics, UI captures, or images with sharp edges.
- You do not mind a larger file in exchange for lossless output.
Browser HEIC Support Limits
HEIC decoding depends on your browser and operating system. Safari and Apple devices usually handle HEIC best; some Windows and Chrome setups need HEIF/HEVC support before a HEIC file can be decoded. For the technical background, read the HEIC / HEIF format guide.
