Your browser creates H.264 video and AAC audio without uploading the source file.
Download a more compatible file for phones, editors, slides, websites, and messaging apps.
You can choose a WebM video up to 100MB, including many Chrome or Firefox screen recordings and videos downloaded from web apps.
Yes. Audio is kept by default and encoded as AAC for broad MP4 compatibility. You can also remove audio before converting.
No. Renaming only changes the filename. This converter re-encodes the video as H.264 and the audio as AAC inside a real MP4 container.
The H.264 MP4 output has much broader support on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows, Android, editors, and sharing apps than WebM.
No. The video is decoded and converted locally in your browser.
Turn a WebM browser recording, downloaded web video, or clip exported by a web app into an MP4 that is easier to open, edit, present, and share. The conversion runs locally in your browser and creates widely compatible H.264 video with optional AAC audio.
WebM files commonly contain VP8, VP9, or AV1 video with Opus audio. They work well on the web, but some Apple devices, presentation tools, editors, and messaging apps expect H.264 MP4 instead. A real conversion changes the codecs and container, so simply renaming .webm to .mp4 will not solve compatibility problems.
Use the built-in editor to remove an unwanted beginning or ending. After converting, open the video trimmer for another precise cut or the video compressor when a website or chat app has a smaller upload limit.
